Getting started

What is Supera? +

Supera is a simple, bilingual (English & Spanish) tool for running employee reviews at small companies. It helps you handle probation check-ins, annual and ongoing reviews, performance improvement plans, 360° feedback, and goals — with a clear, signed record of each one. It's built for owners and managers, not HR departments.

Who is Supera for? +

U.S. small businesses with fewer than about 50 employees — restaurants, clinics, landscaping and construction crews, shops, offices, and professional-services firms. It's an especially good fit for teams where some people work best in Spanish and others in English.

Do I need to be technical, or know HR, to use it? +

No. If you can send a text message, you can run a review. Supera drafts the review form for you, walks you through each step, and uses plain wording throughout. There's no HR jargon and nothing to install.

How long does setup take? +

Minutes, not weeks. You pick your industry, the AI drafts a review form tailored to the role in both languages, you make any edits you want, and you're ready to send. Compare that to the four-to-six weeks many traditional HR systems take to configure.

How is Supera different from BambooHR or a big HR system? +

Big HR platforms do everything — payroll, benefits, hiring, time-off — and charge and configure accordingly. Supera does one thing well: clear, fair, documented reviews, fully bilingual, at a price a small team can afford. If you want an all-in-one HR suite, they're a fine choice. If you want reviews that are easy, fast, and in your team's languages, that's us.

Pricing & billing

How much does it cost? +

$5 per employee, per month. If you pay for a year up front, it's $4 per employee, per month (billed annually). No setup fees, no long contracts.

Is there really a free plan? +

Yes. Supera is free for up to 5 employees, and the free plan includes everything — not a stripped-down trial. On top of that, the owner/admin seat is always free, so a 5-person team pays nothing.

Who counts as a paid seat — do I pay for myself as the owner? +

You pay for the employees you review. The primary admin seat (you, the owner) is free — you're billed per employee, not for the person running the tool. If you add co-admins, those occupy regular seats. Free up to 5 employees; at 6 or more employees, the paid plan begins.

Is there a founding-member deal? +

Yes — our launch offer welcomes the first 100 companies in 100 days as Founding Members. Sign up for any paid plan (monthly or annual) and lock in 20% off for the life of your account* — $4 per employee monthly, or $3.20 on the annual plan.

On the free plan? Start free and you have 90 days to upgrade and lock that same 20% discount for life. The founding discount stays with your account for as long as it's active.

*Based on current (2026) pricing; no price increase is anticipated for 2026–2027.

What happens to my bill when I add or remove employees? +

Adding someone turns on their seat right away so you can review them immediately (if it's mid-cycle, it's simply prorated for the days left).

Removing someone doesn't lower your bill mid-cycle — instead, their seat becomes vacant and stays on your plan until your next renewal. The important part: you can put another employee into that empty seat at no extra cost for the rest of the cycle. You never pay twice for the same seat, and you're never surprised by a mid-cycle charge.

Your seat count only steps down at renewal, when you're billed for the seats you actually still need. In short: add anyone, anytime — and a seat you've already paid for is yours to refill for free until renewal.

Will I be charged sales tax? +

Our prices are shown before tax, and most early customers won't see any. Sales tax only applies where we're required to collect it, and many states don't tax this kind of software at all. If tax ever applies to you, it's shown clearly at checkout — your base price never changes.

How do I pay, and can I cancel anytime? +

You pay by card, handled securely through Stripe. You can cancel anytime — there's no long-term contract. If you cancel, you can export your records first, and your data is handled per our retention policy (see “What happens to my data if I close my account?”).

What if a payment fails? +

You won't lose anything abruptly. We retry the card a few times and email you (admins only — your team never sees billing). If it stays unpaid, the account moves to read-only for a while (you can still view and export), well before anything is ever removed. There's a long, clearly-communicated runway to fix it.

Features & how it works

What kinds of reviews can I run? +

Probation reviews, ongoing/annual reviews, performance improvement plans (PIPs), self-assessments, 360° feedback, and goal check-ins. Each one produces a clear, signed record you can keep.

What are automated probation reviews? +

When you add a new hire with their start date, Supera automatically schedules their probation review so it doesn't slip through the cracks. You get a reminder when it's due, the form is already drafted, and the finished review is signed and saved. It's one of the easiest ways to keep new-hire check-ins consistent and fair.

What is a PIP, and how does Supera help? +

A PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) is a structured way to help an employee who's struggling get back on track — with clear expectations, a timeline, and check-ins. Supera gives you a fair, plain-language PIP template, tracks the check-ins, and keeps a signed record of each step, so the process is consistent and transparent for everyone.

What is 360° feedback, and is it really anonymous? +

360° feedback gathers input on an employee from the people around them — peers, their manager, and sometimes their own reports — for a fuller picture. In Supera it's anonymous by design: the system never stores who said what, so results can't be traced back to a person — not even by you as the admin. Results are only shown once enough people have responded, so no single answer stands out. This is built into how the tool works, not just a setting.

Can I track goals or OKRs? +

Yes. You can set goals for individuals or the team, break them into key results, and track progress over time. Goals tie into reviews so check-ins feel like part of the everyday work, not a once-a-year scramble.

I have several managers — can each one see only their own team? +

Yes. You can assign each employee to a reviewing manager, and managers see and act on only their own direct reports. As the admin, you see everyone; employees see only themselves. This keeps sensitive reviews appropriately private. Rolling out

How do employees receive their reviews? +

You send the review and they get a link. To open it, they sign in the easiest way for them — with a Google or Apple account, or a one-tap email link (no password to create). If they'd rather, they can still get a one-time code by WhatsApp or text.

There's no app to download, it all works on their phone, and they read or complete the review in their own language.

Can I add my whole team at once? +

Yes. You can add people one at a time, or upload a spreadsheet or payroll export and let Supera map the columns for you. We only keep the details we need for reviews — things like Social Security numbers, pay, and birth dates are dropped, and the uploaded file is discarded after it's processed. Coming soon

What is the “Certificate of Acknowledgment”? +

It's the signed record that an employee received and read their review. When someone acknowledges a review, Supera captures that moment and produces a clean certificate you can keep on file — so you always have a clear record that the conversation happened and was seen.

Languages

How does the English / Spanish work — do I have to translate anything? +

No translating on your end. Supera writes both languages together from the start, so a manager can work in English while an employee reads and responds in Spanish — or the reverse. Everyone sees the same review, each in their own language, side by side.

Which language is the official record? +

English is the governing version of record, with the Spanish shown alongside it so everyone understands. Both are kept together on the signed review.

Security & privacy

Is my company's data secure? +

Security is a core priority. Your data is encrypted both in storage (AES-256) and in transit (TLS), each company's data is kept separate, admins sign in with multi-factor authentication, and every important action is written to a tamper-evident log. Supera is built to SOC 2 and ISO 27001 control standards, on infrastructure that is itself SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified.

Is my data used to train AI? +

No. Supera uses Anthropic's business API to draft and translate reviews. By default, Anthropic does not use business API data to train its models, and that data is short-lived — under a signed data-processing agreement. In plain terms: your team's reviews help you, and don't get fed into anyone's AI.

Can I, as the admin, see who gave anonymous 360° feedback? +

No — and that's on purpose. Anonymity holds against everyone, including admins and co-admins. Because the system never stores who wrote a piece of feedback, there's no “admin override” that could reveal it. That's what makes people comfortable being honest.

What happens to my data if I delete an employee or close my account? +

Deleting a single employee permanently removes their records from your account — your company's encryption key isn't touched, so everyone else's data is unaffected. Closing your whole account goes further: we destroy your company's own encryption key ("crypto-shredding"), which makes all your data — including backups — permanently unreadable. You can export your records first either way.

Trying it & getting help

Can I try Supera before committing? +

Yes. There's a live demo you can click through with no sign-up, and the free plan (up to 5 employees) lets you use the real thing at no cost. You can request early access anytime.

How do I get support? +

Email [email protected] and a real person will help. There's also an in-app help assistant that answers common questions in English and Spanish.

The basics

What is Supera, and why am I getting a review through it? +

Supera is the tool your employer uses to run performance reviews — like a probation check-in, a yearly review, or a chance to give feedback. It's designed to be quick, clear, and available in your language.

Do I need to download an app or create a password? +

No. There's nothing to install and no password to create. You tap the link your employer sends and sign in the easy way — with your Google or Apple account, a one-tap email link, or a one-time code by WhatsApp or text. That's it.

I got a text or WhatsApp from Supera — is it real and safe? +

Yes, if your employer uses Supera, that message is a normal part of your review. It will send you a short code to sign in. Supera will never ask for your password, Social Security number, or bank details — if a message asks for anything like that, don't respond and tell your manager.

Can I do everything on my phone? +

Yes. Supera is built to work on a phone from start to finish — reading your review, filling out a self-assessment, giving feedback, and signing. A computer works too, but you don't need one.

Can I use it in Spanish, or another language? +

Yes. Supera works in English and Spanish, and you choose which you prefer. Your manager can be working in one language while you read and respond in the other — you'll always see it in yours.

I lost the message or my code expired — what do I do? +

No problem. Codes are only good for a few minutes for your security, so just request a new one from the sign-in screen. If you're stuck, ask your manager to resend your review invitation.

Your reviews

What is a probation review? +

It's a check-in early in a new job — usually in your first weeks or months — where your manager reviews how things are going. It's a normal step, a chance to hear how you're doing and to share your own view. Supera makes sure it's clear and fair, and that you get a copy.

What is a self-assessment — do I fill one out? +

Sometimes, yes. A self-assessment is your chance to share how you think your work is going before or during a review. It helps make the conversation two-way instead of one-sided. If your employer asks for one, Supera will walk you through it.

What does it mean to “acknowledge” or “sign” my review? +

Signing means you received and read the review — it does not mean you agree with everything in it. It simply confirms the conversation happened and you saw it. You'll get your own copy of what you signed.

I don't agree with my review — what can I do? +

You can still acknowledge that you received it (that's not the same as agreeing), and in most cases add your own comments so your view is on the record. The best next step is usually to talk with your manager. Supera is built to keep the process fair and to give you a voice, not just a signature.

Who can see my reviews? +

You, your manager, and your company's admin — the people responsible for your reviews. Other employees and coworkers cannot see your reviews. Your review is private to the people running it.

Feedback & goals

What is 360° feedback? +

It's when a few people who work with someone — teammates, a manager — each share feedback to give a fuller, fairer picture than one person's opinion alone. You might be asked to give it about a coworker, or receive it about yourself.

If I give feedback about a coworker, will they know it was me? +

No. Anonymous feedback is truly anonymous — Supera doesn't store who wrote what, so it can't be traced back to you. Feedback is also only shown once enough people have responded, so no single answer can be singled out. You can be honest and kind without worrying.

Will my boss or manager see who said what in anonymous feedback? +

No. Not your manager, not the owner, not any admin. There's no hidden way to reveal it, because the identities are never stored in the first place.

What are goals, and how do I track mine? +

Goals are the things you're working toward at your job. If your employer uses goals, you'll be able to see yours, update your progress, and talk about them during check-ins — so your reviews reflect the real work you're doing.

Your privacy

Can my employer see my personal messages or phone? +

No. Supera is only for your work reviews. It doesn't read your texts, your personal email, or anything on your phone. The only messages it sends are your review invitations and sign-in codes.

Is my personal information safe? Will it be sold? +

Your information is encrypted and kept private, and it is never sold. It's also never used to train AI. It's used only to run your reviews for your employer.

What happens to my information if I leave the company? +

Your employer keeps review records only as long as they need them, and when information is deleted, Supera destroys it for good rather than just hiding it. If you have questions about your own records, your employer's admin is the right person to ask.

I have a question that isn't answered here — who do I ask? +

For anything about your specific reviews, job, or company, ask your manager or your company's admin — they run the reviews. For how the tool itself works, there's a help assistant inside Supera in English and Spanish.
